Over the last few months I have been taking pictures of the flowering plants here in the north of Norway. I have been pleasantly surprised at the large number of these plants that reside in a place so far above the Arctic. While the summer here is short, the sunlight certainly isn’t (well except for this summer maybe!). The plants here only have a short window in which to grow so they make use of all the sunlight they can – and as a result the landscape here can change from brown to green to vibrant pinks and purples in a matter of weeks; if not days!
If you know the names of any of these flowers/plants, please leave a comment so I can update the photographs.
Hey Josh fabulous photos. Well done. Yes it’s amazing that the Arctic has such a vivid array of colourful flowers. Thanks for sharing. Daddio
Hi Josh, great photos. The top left corner, I believe, is the Lapland cornel (Cornus suecica).
Thanks Richard, good to know 🙂
